Bonneville, the Salt Flats! Speed Week, Southern California Timing Association

---- and more!! The trip to Bonneville is long past. There was a bunch to do when we got back so it has taken a bit for me to get this update posted. The cars are great and the people are even better. We had a good time. This is the car we went out to follow along. It is from Lawton, Ia. Near Sioux City and about 75 miles from where we are in Fremont, NE.

Besides seeing great race cars, the daily drivers, this one from California, as were many, were a whole car show in themselves. Everything you could imagine and more.

We had to leave by Monday (stayed from Friday to Monday) so I’m hoping the boys got the car over 200MPH. They were still working on required runs and had made one at over 160.

The streamliners are always a favorite, but everything that runs is pretty cool. And listening to the car, long after you can’t really see it is way cool. I spent one day just on the starting lines watching cars take off. It was great. If you get a chance, it is a good show to put on the bucket list. And of course, I want to go back with a car!!

Enjoy the brief video and the miles of white.

This car is getting recovered after stopping a couple of miles out. The mountains (I am told) are about 25 miles away. We brought a few lumps of salt back to Nebraska but had most of it washed out of the car before we left.
